Latest program update

The state program site energyrebates.ky.gov carries an alert reading "Kentucky Home Energy Rebates are not yet available. Anyone that is offering these rebates is misinformed." Its status tracker shows the program at the application and plan submission step, awaiting U.S. DOE review and approval, and states the application portal will open only after DOE approval and receipt of funds. Allocation figures are from the U.S. DOE IRA Home Energy Rebates state allocation table (updated May 23, 2024).

Can I still get a federal tax credit in Kentucky?

No. 25C and 25D were both repealed by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act for property placed in service after December 31, 2025. Anything installed in Kentucky in 2026 earns no federal residential energy credit. Work finished on or before that date can still be claimed.
