Latest program update

NH DOE states the HEAR program is "Coming Soon" and is expected to launch in Fall 2026; Governor and Council approved the implementation contract with Everblue on March 25, 2026. Rebates will only be available for projects initiated after the program officially opens, and the program is explicitly not retroactive. The Home Efficiency Rebates (HER/HOMES) page states "The HER program is not available to NH Consumers yet" and that NH DOE has not received the funding required to fully implement it. Both pages were last updated 07/29/2026. NH DOE's own pages state it is slated to receive $34,882,819 for HER and $34,749,580 for HEAR through September 2031; the HER figure differs slightly from the DOE formula allocation table shown here.

Can I still get a federal tax credit in New Hampshire?

No. 25C and 25D were both repealed by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act for property placed in service after December 31, 2025. Anything installed in New Hampshire in 2026 earns no federal residential energy credit. Work finished on or before that date can still be claimed.
