Latest program update

As of the June 15, 2026 update on Commerce's IRA Home Energy Rebates page, the programs sit at Step 5 of 7 ("program operation preparation"); DOE launch approval (Step 6) and statewide launch with open applications (Step 7) both remain, and Guidehouse was selected as rebate administrator in September 2025. A separate, state-funded Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates program under Washington's Climate Commitment Act is open and delivered through third-party administrators - this is not the federal IRA program - and residents are directed to email [email protected] to find the administrator serving their area.

Can I still get a federal tax credit in Washington?

No. 25C and 25D were both repealed by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act for property placed in service after December 31, 2025. Anything installed in Washington in 2026 earns no federal residential energy credit. Work finished on or before that date can still be claimed.
