Virginia Energy finished submitting its Home Energy Rebates application documents to the U.S. Department of Energy in June 2025 and is now updating them to conform with DOE program documents released May 29, 2026, after which it must await DOE review and approval before launching. Virginia Energy's own FAQ states it cannot provide an estimated date for when Home Energy Rebates will be available, and no homeowner application portal exists; note that Virginia Energy's page cites a HOMES figure of $94,347,205, slightly below the $94,537,110 in DOE's official allocation table.

Can I still get a federal tax credit in Virginia?
No. 25C and 25D were both repealed by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act for property placed in service after December 31, 2025. Anything installed in Virginia in 2026 earns no federal residential energy credit. Work finished on or before that date can still be claimed.
