Nationwide upgrade guide

Six project types. Fifty different state landscapes.

Choose an upgrade to see which state guides currently contain published program information, what eligibility details matter, and what to verify before you buy.

Federal tax credits — ended

25C and 25D both stopped applying to work placed in service after December 31, 2025. Anything installed in 2026 gets no federal residential credit.

State programs — status varies

Some state programs are open, some are partly open, and others have not launched. Each state guide reports its own status and administering source.

Utility programs — local by design

Published offers depend on utility territory, customer class, equipment, timing, contractor rules, and available program budget. Confirm before purchase.

Not sure which project comes first?

An energy audit can identify comfort, health, safety, and efficiency priorities before you compare incentives. Whether an audit is subsidized depends on your local program.

Start with your ZIP and the project you are considering

The eligibility check helps narrow the national landscape to the programs, timing rules, and next steps that may apply where you live.
