The Michigan Home Energy Rebates (MiHER) Program is accepting applications. EGLE's page states: "Applications are currently open to low- to moderate-income households only" and "We are currently accepting applications from low-to-moderate-income residents across the state." EGLE's own page reports $105.7 million in federal funding allocated to HOMES and $105.3 million allocated to HEAR; DOE's allocation table lists $105,904,990 (HOMES) and $105,291,160 (HEAR). One exception is posted: "New income qualified applications for EGLE Detroit District properties are temporarily unavailable while MiHER reviews current applications and funding capacity." Work must be done by a MiHER Registered Contractor and the rebate is paid directly to the contractor.

Can I still get a federal tax credit in Michigan?
No. 25C and 25D were both repealed by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act for property placed in service after December 31, 2025. Anything installed in Michigan in 2026 earns no federal residential energy credit. Work finished on or before that date can still be claimed.
