Latest program update

DEQ's program page states "The Montana Home Energy Rebates Program is not currently available" and that final U.S. DOE approval of the implementation award is required before rollout. DEQ received conditional implementation awards in January 2025 but the funds are not accessible; planning was paused in February 2025 pending updated DOE guidance. DOE issued revised program guidance on June 1, 2026, and DEQ states it will revise and resubmit its application before any launch. No public application exists.
