The Maryland Energy Administration states that U.S. DOE has conditionally approved Maryland's applications for both Home Energy Rebate Programs but that "Additional approvals from DOE are still required before funding is received and the programs can officially launch." No homeowner application portal is open. MEA notes it is reviewing the updated DOE program guidance issued in June 2026. Maryland Environmental Service is managing the procurement of qualified service providers (RFP issued July 15, 2025). Can I still get a federal tax credit in Maryland?
No. 25C and 25D were both repealed by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act for property placed in service after December 31, 2025. Anything installed in Maryland in 2026 earns no federal residential energy credit. Work finished on or before that date can still be claimed.
