Latest program update
Maine's HEAR program is live but limited to two income-eligible categories: new construction of affordable multifamily housing and single-family manufactured (mobile) homes. It is not open to general owner-occupied single-family homes. The Home Efficiency Rebates (HER/HOMES) application was still pending with U.S. DOE as of the state's posted status, and Efficiency Maine states it is reviewing the DOE Program Notices published June 1, 2026. Allocation figures are from the U.S. DOE IRA Home Energy Rebates state allocation table (updated May 23, 2024) and match the amounts published by the Maine Department of Energy Resources.
Administered by Maine Department of Energy Resources (Governor's Energy Office), implemented by Efficiency Maine Trust.

Can I still get a federal tax credit in Maine?
